On the Rim of the Wheel a Nail is the experimental sinecore/glitch side project of popular electronica/dance recording artist and activist Richard Melville Hall, who also releases under the aliases Voodoo Child, Barracuda, UHF, The Brotherhood, DJ Cake, INDUSTRY RIVALS, Lopez, and Mindstorm, but is better known as Moby, and for his breakthrough ’99 album Play, whose sound is best defined by it’s oddly infectious mix of scratchy old blues and crackly gospel music recordings, MIDI keyboards, uplifting ambient soundscapes and programmed drums. He has received a lot of attention for his political, environmental and religious beliefs.
